In 2018 I teamed up with Kelly Ewell at 48 Fields to create a very colorful, summer-inspired styled shoot, and oh did this one turn out good!! If you’re not sure what a styled shoot is, I explain a little bit more here. When we first chatted, Kelly had a vision that this would be a completely al fresco shoot — outside, under a big open sky with tons of natural light. We wanted it to feel relaxed yet sophisticated and embody everything we’ve come to love about summer!

I created a new project in Aisle Planner for the shoot and began uploading inspiration photos to the design board. If you’ve never heard of Aisle Planner, read here to see why we love it so much! I also created this mood board to share with other vendors we were hoping to work with, featuring a color palette of citrus yellows, warm peaches, bright orange and cheery pinks with a landscape backdrop that was lush and green. We even had 11+ local photographers to come out and shoot the setup to help build their portfolio!

This was definitely a shoot that stretched me creatively, and let’s be real, the first trimester of pregnancy is notoriously known as the worst, so I was pushing to work through the sheer exhaustion I felt while trying to achieve a look that would inspire couples to reimagine the possibilities of having a summer wedding! In the end, everything turned out so beautiful and I walked away with some great new connections with vendors I’ve never worked with before. I’m so grateful to live in an area that boasts the most talented vendors around.
